Tours in Derry - Tour the famous murals of The People's Gallery with The Bogside Artists

After completing The Bogside Artists' murals tour you get to visit their STUDIO/GALLERY.

Opened this year by Nobel Laureate John Hume, the impressive studio is the nerve centre of The Bogside Artists' activities, where they conduct workshops and give talks on their murals and their artwork. The artists tours usually begin here. Important exhibitions take place in the gallery that is a vital pathe bogside artists' workshops.rt of the studio.

Here is displayed the work of young people who otherwise would not get a chance to show in a proper art gallery. This is a free service to the community that the artists have provided for years. Tourists who go on The People's Gallery Murals Tour naturally get to visit the gallery as well.

The reception area, where the artists give their talks by slide and film, can seat over 70 people and has wheelchair access and all the usual amenities.

At the popular studio, you can ask questions about the famous murals and their history and buy souvenirs - posters, books, and even T-shirts, (all original and all designed by the artists), that you can get nowhere else. You can have them signed too. Even if you have missed out, you can still get these through the image link below. In the winter months, the studio is used to hold workshops with children. Tours however can often last well into October. You can book any time!

The Bogside Artists' Studio truly is the enegetic hub of the Bogside. If you want to know what is really going on in the city, call in and chat with the artists in person.

Throughout it all, of course, you just never know who might pop in to pay their respects.
